Team Sport

Soccer is a team sport. For sure, one can not play it alone. Even if one can dribble like Christiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, one can not win the game by him or herself. It is my thrid year playing Soccer in my highschool team, and I have learned a lot so far: I learned about team work, leadership, and most importantly, trusting your peers on the field.

The soccer season of 2009 started with a bright start with a win on the first friendly match, but the progress so far has not been satisfying. It's a new team, and we haven't played together for a long time. By the end of the season, I hope that our team can bring it to the next level where we don't even have to talk to each other for open passes. When you trust your players on the field, it is much easier to play the game of soccer. When you try your best for your players on the field, it is much easier to win a game in soccer. When everyone is participating to their best abilities, it much easier to dominate a game in soccer.

Down by one or two or even three goals, no one should be putting their heads down. They should not think about the score. It is always "0:0." What this means is that even though you get scored or you score one, you should not be giving up the game. I hope our team learns this. In many games, we let ourselves down after an opponent's goal, and it is impossible to keep the team back up on their feet if one gives up. Everyone should participate and think about "0:0." A team can get their goals back on the lead in just few minutes. It is all about trying hard.
